Samsung Washer Won't Drain — Causes and Fixes
Water sitting in the tub at the end of a cycle is usually a filter, hose or pump problem — not a dead machine. Work through these checks in order.
Safety first. Unplug the washer before opening any panel or pump filter cover, and turn the taps off before disconnecting a hose. Informational only — not professional repair advice.
1. Clean the debris filter first
Most no-drain cases end here. Switch off, open the filter flap slowly with a tray underneath, remove lint and objects, rinse the filter and check the impeller turns freely.
2. Check the drain hose
Straighten it end to end, confirm it is not frozen or squashed, and confirm its outlet is not lying on the floor where it can siphon.
3. Run a drain-only cycle
Close the filter and run Spin Only / Drain. If water now leaves, the blockage is cleared. If the pump hums without moving water, or stays silent, book service — the pump is the likely fault.
