Samsung Washer Error Codes
Find your code below, or type it in the finder. Each code page gives the meaning, causes in likelihood order, DIY steps, reset, when to call a technician, and model notes — checked 2026-10-30.
Old codes and display lookalikes — read this first
Samsung changed its code displays over the years, and small displays make some letters look alike. That is why one fault can appear under several labels:
- Old → new: E1 → 4C/4E/nF (fill); E2 → 5C/5E/nd (drain); E7 → 1C/1E (water-level sensor); EA/EB → 3C/3E (motor); OE/OF → OC (overflow).
- Lookalikes on a small display: 5C can look like SC or 5E; OE can look like 0E (zero, not the letter O); SUD can look like 5UD; dS can look like d5. If your code is not in the table as written, check the lookalike row — it is the same fault, not a different one.
- Model traps: dC means a door fault on most models but an unbalanced load on a few older ones; 3E means a motor fault on most models but a voltage error on a few; OC/1C is listed as a level-sensor problem on some top-load manuals. Each code page flags its own trap — always confirm with your model's manual.
